Frequently Asked Questions
Where are my cards stored?
As Markdown files, either in the app's folder on your device or in the Flashcards MD folder in your iCloud Drive. You choose the location in Settings. On a Mac you can also pick any folder you like.
Can I edit my cards outside the app?
Yes. Each card is a plain text file: a short header with its learning progress, the front, and the back below a ---next--- line. Changes you make in another editor show up in the app.
How do I sync between my iPhone, iPad and Mac?
Store your library in iCloud Drive on every device, signed in to the same Apple account. Syncing is done by iCloud itself, so it follows your iCloud settings and needs no account with us.
How do I restore my subscription?
Your subscription is linked to the Apple account you bought it with. Open the purchase screen in the app and tap "Restore Purchases." Premium is restored on every device signed in to that account.
How do I cancel my subscription?
Subscriptions are managed by Apple. Open Settings on your iPhone, tap your name, then Subscriptions, and choose Flashcards MD. Nothing is deleted when you cancel. The free limits apply again: your oldest 5 sets and 50 cards stay available in the app, the rest is locked until you subscribe again. The files themselves stay in your folder and remain readable in any editor.
What does the free version include?
Everything except volume: up to 5 sets and 50 cards, with the full editor, review sessions and statistics. Premium removes both limits.
